What leaves your machine.
The answer is different for each product, so this is written per product rather than as one statement that would have to be vague enough to cover all four. Everything below is checkable against what the app does.
- nomore.mouse
- Nothing leaves your machine. Reading the accessibility tree to place hints and moving the pointer are entirely local operations. No network requests are made by this product.
- nomore.typing
- Depends on a setting you choose. On “On this machine”, audio is transcribed locally by whisper and never leaves the device — it works offline. On “Hosted by NoMore”, the recording is uploaded to our server, transcribed, and the audio and transcript are stored so you can revisit them. The setting is shown during setup and in Settings, and we do not fall back from local to hosted without you turning that on.
- nomore.forgetting
- Screen history is stored only on your machine. Frames are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using a key held locally at mode 0600, and the searchable text index is stored alongside them. Nothing is uploaded. Excluded apps and pause prevent the screenshot from being taken at all rather than filtering it afterwards, and you can cap the disk it uses, export everything as JSONL, or erase it in one action.
- nomore.agent
- Screenshots are sent to whichever model provider you configure, because the agent has to see the screen to act on it. That means the contents of your screen reach that provider while a task is running. Every run writes a local JSONL audit log of the actions taken. The agent only runs when you start a task.
- Account
- If you sign in, we store your email address and the devices you have paired, so settings can sync and the hosted dictation service knows who is calling it. Sign-in is optional — every product except hosted dictation works without an account.
- Analytics and diagnostics
- On by default, and every part of it can be switched off in Settings → Privacy — individually or all at once. The streams are: crash reports (stack traces, with home paths, usernames, credentials and email addresses stripped out); usage events (which feature was used and how often — the name of the action, never what it acted on); agent conversations (the tasks you give nomore.agent and the steps it takes, which is your own writing); dictation transcripts (the text of what you say out loud); and settings session replay (a recording of NoMore’s own settings window, never your screen or any other application). They are listed separately because they are different things to agree to, and turning any of them off stops that collection immediately. There are no advertising identifiers. Installs are counted with a random id generated on your machine — not your email, hostname or hardware.
- Where screen history is stored
- Your choice, and it is asked during setup. On “On this machine”, frames and the search index never leave your computer. On “Hosted by NoMore”, frames are uploaded to our servers — that is what makes advanced search and storage optimisation possible, because the heavy work happens there rather than on your laptop. Hosted means screenshots of everything on your screen, including other applications, are stored by us. It is never the default and we do not switch you to it. Advanced OCR, the higher-quality text extraction that makes search find words inside screenshots, has its own switch and can be turned off on either setting.
- Deleting your data
- Screen history and local dictation never left your machine, so removing them is a local action — forgetting has a one-click erase. For anything stored server-side by hosted dictation, email the address below and we will delete it.
Recording other people
nomore.forgetting captures your screen, which can include other people's messages, faces and documents. Some jurisdictions require every party to consent before a conversation is recorded. NoMore does not obtain that consent for you, and whether you may record a given call is your responsibility to establish.
